Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons honey

How To Make honey cornbread

  • Step 1
    Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; set aside.
  • Step 2
    Combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, and honey; add to dry ingredients, mixing well.
  • Step 3
    Pour batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 425 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 5
    Cut into 2 inch squares to serve. Yield: about 2 dozen squares.
