Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups quick cooking rolled oats, ground
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 2 cups sour milk
- 1 cup raisins

Step 1Sift the first five ingredients together.

Step 2Add the oats, molasses, melted shortening and milk.

Step 3Mix thoroughly and add the raisins.

Step 4Pour into a large greased loaf pan.

Step 5Let it set for 20 minutes then bake about 1 hour at 350.

Step 6Note: The rolled oats may be ground with a rolling pin or in the meat grinder.
