I've had this recipe for so many years, I have no idea where I got it. This is a delicious bread but it is really a desert. So good!

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups pineapple, crushed with juice
  • 3 cups coconut
  • 4 - eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries, chopped

How To Make hawaiian bread

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl mix pineapple with juice, coconut, cherries, eggs and sugar together. Add flour, salt, and baking soda, mix well. Use spoon to mix, do not use an electric mixer.
  • Step 2
    Pour into 2(two) well greased loaf pans.
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake 1 hour or until tooth pick in center comes out clean. Cool in pans about 10 minutes, remove from pans and cool completely on wire rack.
  • Step 4
    When completely cool wrap in foil and refrigerate.
