I've had this recipe for so many years, I have no idea where I got it. This is a delicious bread but it is really a desert. So good!

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c
    pineapple, crushed with juice
  • 3 c
    coconut
  • 4
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 jar(s)
    maraschino cherries, chopped

How to Make Hawaiian Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl mix pineapple with juice, coconut, cherries, eggs and sugar together. Add flour, salt, and baking soda, mix well. Use spoon to mix, do not use an electric mixer.
  2. Pour into 2(two) well greased loaf pans.
  3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake 1 hour or until tooth pick in center comes out clean. Cool in pans about 10 minutes, remove from pans and cool completely on wire rack.
  4. When completely cool wrap in foil and refrigerate.
