Ingredients

  • 2 - envelopes active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 6 cups all purpose flour

How To Make hawaiian bread

  • Step 1
    In small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
    In large bowl, beat yeast mixture, eggs, pineapple/juice, water, sugar, extract and butter. Gradually stir in flour until batter is stiff. Cover with damp cloth and let rise in warm place for 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    Punch down dough and turn out onto a floured surface. Divide dough into three pieces and form into loaves. Place into lightly greased loaf or round cake pans. Cover with damp cloth and let rise until doubled in size; about 40 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
