Ingredients

2 call purpose flour
-
1/2 tspsalt

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 csugar
-
1egg, slightly beaten
-
3 Tbspvegetable oil
-
3/4 corange juice or juice of 1 orange + water to = 3/4c
-
1/2 cchopped walnuts
-
1-2 ccranberries cut into halves
-
·zest of 1 orange
How to Make Granny Clara's Cranberry Bread
- Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. - Sift flour with dry ingredients; add beaten eggs, oil and orange juice. Combine only until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in nuts, cranberries and orange rind.
- Turn into greased 1lb.loaf pan or 2 one half pound pans. Bake 1 lb. pan 1 hour and 1/2 lb. 45 minutes or until done. Wait 24 hours or longer to cut.
- Cool slightly in the baking pan and then turn out onto a wooden or wire rack and finish cooling.
Brush lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar. Wrap in wax paper tighlty then wrap with foil..let set for @ least 24hrs..in order for the flavors to fully develope
