Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    vegetable shortening (crisco)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3
    bananas
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    chopped walnuts

How to Make GRANDMA EVIE'S BANANA NUT BREAD

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream the shortening, sugar, eggs, and bananas. Add the soda, flour and nuts.
  2. Grease loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass). Bake about 1 hr. and 10 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean when checked.
    I always cover the loaf when it is nicely browned with aluminum foil to keep it from overbrowning.
    Cool on rack and wrap in foil to keep moist.
