Nothing else compares to Grandma's Banana Bread for our family. Grandma would freeze over-ripe bananas and when she had 3 she waould make this wonderful bread. Nothing was wasted. And we got a yummy treat.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 - eggs
- 3 - very ripe mashed bananas
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional
How To Make grandma carr's banana bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Set aside. Cream sugar and shortening. Stir in eggs, and then add bananas and vanilla. Add the set aside flour, mix well. Stir in nuts, if using. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
