  • 1 pkg
    crescent rolls (8oz)

  • 1 pkg
    cream cheese, room temperature, (8 oz)
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 tsp
    lime or lemon zest
  • 1 c
    pecans (whole or pieces or halves...whatever you like)

  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 5-6 Tbsp
    half and half or heavy cream
  • 1 pinch
    (actually a splash) almond extract (vanilla is ok, too)

How to Make Fake Out Cheese Danish


  1. Roll out crescents and separate by 2s's (so that rectangles are forms) and place side by side so that one long rectangle is formed. Press to seal seems.
  2. Mix filling ingredients except pecans together and spread down center. Top with pecans.
  3. Cut diagonal slits up from the outer edge to the filling. Fold over each other so that a braided pattern is formed.
  4. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes in 375 oven. Check for extra browning and cover with foil if it started to become too dark. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  5. Mix together Drizzle ingredients and drizzle over "danish".
