I'm originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada and was raised by my grandparents who are of British ancestry, this recipe has been passed down for generations. You may substitute raisins for the currants.

How to Make English Currant Scones

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix ingredients together to form a dough, roll out dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out with a large cookie cutter or in any shape you wish...my mom always cuts hers in triangles.
  2. Brush the top of the scones with milk and sprinkle sugar on top and bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
