Ingredients
- 1 package [8 ounces] pitted dates
- 1 1/4 cups boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 6 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1 - egg beaten
- 2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
How To Make date tea bread

Step 1cut dates in small pieces into medium-size bowl,pour boilling water over.Stir in sugar and butter until butter melts,cool.Stier in beaten egg.

Step 2Sift flour,soda,and salt onto wax paper,stier into date mixture just until blended.pour into greased loaft pan.let stand 15 min.

Step 3Bake in moederate oven[350f 1 hour and 10 min,or until wooden pick inserted deep into loft comes out clean, cool in pan 5 min,turn out on wire rack,cool completely.

Step 4wrap in wax paper, foil,or trasparent wrap,store at least 1 day before slicing.
