Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder or instant coffee
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 - 4 medium bananas
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 11/4 cups chocolate chips, any type
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, if desired
How To Make dark chocolate banana bread

Step 1Grease a loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, espresso powder, and cocoa. Set the bowl aside.

Step 3In another bowl, mix sugar, bananas, sour cream, vanilla, oil, and egg. Mix well.

Step 4Mix the bowl of dry ingredients into the bowl of banana mixture. Stir together well.

Step 5Stir in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips. Mix in nuts if desired.

Step 6Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over the loaf evenly.

Step 7Place in the oven and bake for approximately 1 hour. It may take a few minutes longer, depending on your oven. Check with a toothpick for doneness.

Step 8Cool on a rack. Remove the loaf from the pan. Cut into slices and serve.
