This is a fabulous that has a nice citric taste. I don't get to make this very often because of where I live does not have fresh cranberries except for the winter season but when I do, it does not stick around long

  • 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
  • 1
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange peel
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 c
    orange juice
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    chopped fresh cranberries
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts

How to Make Cranberry Orange Bread


  1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and orange peel.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with juice. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Pour into a greased 9"x5" loaf pan.
  3. Bake at 350* for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; remove from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Orange Glaze:
    Combine orange juice and confectioners sugar until a glaze is formed. Serve with warm bread
