  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
    orange peel, grated
  • ·
    juice from one orange
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped

How to Make Cranberry Bread


  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.
  2. Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and peel. Add water to juice to measure 3/4 cup; blend in cheese and egg.
  3. Gold in cranberries and nuts. Bake in prepared pan 60 - 70 minutes. Let loaf stand 8 hours before serving.
