    2 cups sifted flour
  • ·
    1 cup sugar
  • ·
    1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • ·
    1/2 t. baking soda
  • ·
    1 t. salt
  • ·
    1/4 cup butter, 1/2 stick
  • ·
    1 egg, beaten
  • ·
    1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled, 1/2 stick
  • ·
    3/4 cup orange juice
  • ·
    1 t. grated orange zest
  • ·
    1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped

How to Make Cranberry Bread


  1. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture is crumbly. Add the egg, melted butter, orange juice and orange zest and stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon into a greased 5 x 9 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for several minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Serves 8
