This bread is an excellent gift for the holiday season! That is, if you don't eat it all before you get it packaged up.

Ingredients

2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 1/2 c
cranberries, fresh or frozen
1
egg
1/4 c
milk
1/2 c
butter, melted
2 tsp
almond extract

TOPPING

1 Tbsp
sugar
1/4 c
almonds, slivered

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one loaf pan, or two small loaf pans.
2In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cranberries.
3In medium size mixing bowl, combine egg, milk, butter, and almond extract. Add to dry ingredients and mix just until moist.
4Spread batter into prepared pan(s), and sprinkle with topping. Bake 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
