Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup westsoy soy slender vanilla soy milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cups soy flour
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 package (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1 - firm-ripe anjou or bosc pear, pared, cored and chopped
  • - **vegetable oil for deep-frying**
  • - **splenda or your favorite sugar substitute**

How To Make cinnamon spiced pear fritters

  • Step 1
    Combine milk, 1/4 cup oil and honey in a saucepan; heat to 120 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Combine flours, yeast, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a mixing bowl. Add hot milk mixture, mix thoroughly. Dough will be stiff. Add egg substitute, beat well. Stir in pears. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Step 3
    Deep-fry 2 heaping tablespoonfuls at 375 degrees F in 2-inches oil until nicely browned, turn once. Drain on paper towels; shake with splenda to serve.
