Ingredients

2 c
all-purpose flour (unbleached)
1 c
white sugar
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1 tsp
salt
1 c
buttermilk
1/4 c
vegetable oil
2
eggs
2 tsp
vanilla extract
1/4 c
pecans, chopped ( optional )

TOPPING / I DOUBLE THIS

3 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
2 tsp
butter, softened
1/4 c
chopped pecans ( optional )

How to Make Cinnamon Swirl Bread - So Easy

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Grease one 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • 2In large mixing bowl add the first 10 ingredients, beat 3 minutes.
  • 3Pour into prepared loaf pan. Smooth top.
  • 4Combine 3 tablespoons white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and butter, mixing until crumbly.
  • 5Sprinkle topping over smoothed batter. Using knife, cut in a light swirling motion to give a marbled effect. (sprinkle top with 1/4 cup pecans.)

    I usually double the cinnamon mixture.
  • 6Bake for about 50 minutes. Test with toothpick. When inserted it should come out clean. Remove bread from pan to rack to cool.
  • 7You can glaze with a simple confectioners' sugar, cream and vanilla mixture. I don't always...

    It's also great with the addition of plumped up raisins.
