Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2-3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all purpose flour (or for whole wheat, use whole wheat white flour)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make chunky monkey banana bread

Step 1Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Step 2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 3Stir in mashed bananas, milk and vanilla.

Step 4Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.

Step 5Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

Step 6Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes.

Step 7Cool in pans for 5-10 minutes. Remove to wire wrack and cook completely.
