Who doesn’t like warm chocolate and bananas in a quick bread? Add in some chocolate chips, and now it’s even better. Very ripe bananas, cocoa powder, and butter make this quick bread a hit in my household. The smell in my house was divine!

Ingredients
- 4 medium very ripe bananas
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
How To Make chocolatey banana bread with chocolate chips

Step 1Secure a 5 x 9“ glass loaf pan. Grease it with butter or cooking spray and set it aside.

Step 2To a large mixing bowl, add ripe bananas, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. I used almond extract, but you can do either or. Fold in chocolate chips.

Step 3To a medium Pyrex mixing bowl, add flour, baking soda, salt, and allspice. Whisk until all is combined thoroughly.

Step 4Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Pour into the greased, prepared loaf pan.

Step 5Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. It should be dark and delicious.

Step 6Let cool on the countertop on a hot pad for 15 minutes. Slice and serve warm. Refrigerate any leftovers.
