How to Make Chocolate Chip Scones with Nutella Glaze

  • 1Preheat oven 400 f
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Using a pastry blender, cut in cold butter with four. The mixture should look like coarse crumbs.
  • 2Make a well in the flour and pour in heavy cream. Fold everything together just to incorporate. Do not over work the dough.
  • 3Fold in chocolate chips.
Turn out onto a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Shape into a 8 inch circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • 4Cut dough into 8 wedges. Separate wedges about two inches apart. Brush scones with cream.
Bake in oven for 15-18 minutes or until light golden. Do not over bake.
Let scones cool for at least 20 minutes before applying glaze.
Sift confectioners sugar in a microwave bowl. Sir in cream and mix well. Add Nutella and stir until all is combined, adding more cream if too thick. Stir in vanilla and add the butter.
  • 6Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Whisk to smooth out lumps. Heat additional 10 seconds if butter not melted. Drizzle glaze over scones. Let set for 5 mins.
