  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 lb
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1
    large can evaporated milk
  • 1
    10 ounce jar of maraschino cherries, including syrup
  • 1 c
    walnuts or pecans (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract

How to Make Cherry Nut Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease two 9 x 5 bread loaf pans.
  2. Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter as for a pie crust. Add eggs, evaporated milk, cut up cherries, syrup from the cherries, nuts, vanilla and almond extract. Mix well by hand. Pour into 2 bread pans. Bake for 1 hour..or until toothpick comes out clean.
