The ham adds to the savory and sweetness of the apples and raisins which makes it a perfect breakfast addition. Ingredients

  • HAM PREPARATION
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1 pound ham steak about 1 inch thick
  • BREAD
  • 3 cups a/p flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups apples chopped into small pieces
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup honey

How To Make breakfast bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Grease or line two bread pans. Mix together the ingredients to cook the ham in. Brown sugar and cinnamon and apple juice and pour into a skillet large enough to cook the ham. Brown the ham and let the syrup get a little sticky on the ham.
  • Step 2
    Remove the ham and let it cool.
  • Step 3
    Sift together the a/p flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, salt, white sugar. Set aside.
  • Step 4
    Combine the applesuace brown sugar eggs vanilla and chopped apples honey and raisins. Set aside
  • Step 5
    Dice the ham.
  • Step 6
    Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and sprinkle the diced ham over the top of the two loaves and with a spoon press into the bread. Bake for 50 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Let cool and run a knife around the edge of the pan to release the bread.
