Ingredients For blueberry sunrise turnovers

  • 1 c
    fresh or frozen (thawed) blueberries
  • 3 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar in the raw
  • 1 tsp
    zest of one large lemon
  • poppy seeds
  • 1
    sheet puffed pastry

How To Make blueberry sunrise turnovers

    Thaw dough for 30-40 minutes Preheat oven to 400 degrees Soften cream cheese in microwave for 30-40 seconds In a bowl combine cream cheese and vanilla In another bowl, add blueberries, sugar, lemon zest and poppy seeds Add cream cheese mixture to blueberry mixture and stir Unfold sheet and cut each strip in half, there should be 6 squares Add blueberry mixture to each square, fold over into a triangle or a rectangle, whichever you prefer Pinch ends to make sure blueberries stay inside Place on a cookie sheet Sprinkle a little sugar in the raw on top of each turnover Bake for approx. 20 minutes Wait 5 minutes before serving.
