Ingredients
- FOR THE BREAD:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 4 teaspoons grated orange zest
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- FOR THE TOPPING:
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
How To Make blueberry orange bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease a loaf pan. Put the butter in a small bowl and pour the boiling water over. Stir until melted. Stir in orange juice and zest.

Step 2In another bowl, beat egg and sugar until light.

Step 3In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Alternately add the orange mixture and the egg mixture, beating until smooth between additions.

Step 4Fold in the blueberries. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove from oven, cool in pan for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.

Step 5Mix together the lemon juice, honey and lemon zest. Spoon evenly over the hot loaf. Cool completely before serving or wrapping.
