Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 - mashed bananas
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 - small package vanilla pudding, not instant

How To Make banana nut bread

  • Step 1
    CREAM SUGAR AND SHORTENING. ADD EGGS ONE AT A TIME; BEATING WELL. COMBINE FLOUR, SALT, BAKING POWDER AND SODA. ADD ALTERNATELY WITH THE BANANA PULP, ABOUT 1/2 OF EACH AT A TIME, JUST ENOUGH TO BLEND. ADD NUTS THEN ADD PUDDING MIX. POUR INTO ONE GREASED LOAF PAN AND BAKE FOR ABOUT 55 MINS. OR UNTIL KNIFE COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL THEN REMOVE FROM PAN.

    MAY ADD RAISINS OR DATES. DO NOT USE INSTANT PUDDING MIX , IT MAKES IT DRY.
