This is the Banana Nut Bread my mom use to make when I was growing up. It is so moist yet so very simple to make. Hope you enjoy it as much as my family does. Also it freezes so well. I will double this and put one loaf in the freezer for later.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 3 - bananas-medium in size (mashed)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make banana nut bread

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Beat oil and sugar together. Add eggs and bananas. beat well.
  • Step 2
Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture. Add milk and vanilla. Mix well and add chopped walnuts.
  • Step 3
pour into a greased, floured bread pan. I sprinkle the top with sugar. Bake for 1 hour or until done. I check with a toothpick by inserting it in the middle of the bread if it comes out clean it is done.
  • Step 4
If it starts to get to dark I lay a piece of Aluminum Foil on top just to keep the top of my bread from getting to dark. I usually do this at about 50 minutes into baking my bread
  • Step 5
Once baked remove from oven and set on a cooling rack for 15 minutes to cool. Then remove from pan let finish cooling. Slice and ENJOY!
