  • 1 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp

    ripe med. bananas, mashed 1 cup
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c
    plus 1 tablespoon buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda

How to Make Banana Bread


  1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  2. In another mixing bowl, combine eggs, banana, oil, buttermilk and vanilla; add to flour mixture. Stirring just until combined; fold in nuts.
  3. Pour into a greased 9 X 5 X 3-inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until bread tests done. Cool on a wire rack.
