This recipe is one that has been passed down in my family through the generations. It was given to me by my granmother. This alwys was my daughters favorite breakfast. She is 31yrs now with a family of her own, but recently called me asking if I would make her this bread!

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 - ripe bananas
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 large eggs
How To Make banana bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Mash and make pulp of bananas. Pour lemon juice and 1/2 of sugar over bananas and let stand 15 minutes. Cream butter and crisco. Pour balance of sugar over creamed mixture; mix well. Beat eggs. Combine ingredients except dry and mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes.
