This is my grandma's recipe It's the best banana bread ever, it's soft and moist and yummy with a cup or so of chocolate chips.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 3-4 bananas)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2In a large bowl cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time, add vanilla, banana, and lemon juice.

Step 3In a medium bowl sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add flour mixture to banana mixture in three additions beat until just combine.

Step 4Pour batter into a greased and floured 9" by 5" metal loaf pan and until a toothpick inserted comes out clean about 50-55 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes in pan, remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
