I've been making this recipe for years! Sometimes I add about a cup of chocolate chips to the batter for extra yumminess!

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 2 - eggs (slightly beaten, very important)
How To Make banana bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Step 2Grease and flour a loaf pan.

Step 3With fork, mix the first 5 ingredidents.

Step 4With a pastry blender (or 2 knives used in a scissor fashion) cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 5With a fork, stir in bananas and eggs just until blended; spread batter evenly in pan.

Step 6Bake for 55 minutes to an hour until toothpick comes out clean.

Step 7Cool for 10 minutes
