This is a different take on traditional banana bread - I hope you like it!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup apple
  • 1 - banana
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make banana apple bread

  • Step 1
    Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step 3
    Stir in peeled and finely chopped apple and mashed banana.
  • Step 4
    Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, stirring until blended.
  • Step 5
    Spoon batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 for 1 hour our until a wooden pick comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
