Ingredients

  • 12 slices white bread crusts removed)
  • 1 pound cream cheese (cold)
  • 2 cups blueberries, fresh(divided use)
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon vanillia extra

How To Make baked blueberry casserole with blueberry sauce

  • Step 1
    Trim crusts from bread and save for another use.Cut the bread and cream cheese into one inch cubes.Arrange half the bread cubes in bottom of 9x13 inch greased baking dish.Scatter cream cheese and one cup blue berries over bread cubes.Arrange remaining bread cubes over blueberries.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together eggs,maple syrup,and milk and pour over bread.Cover and let chill over nite.Cover and bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for 30 minutes.Remove cover and bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    To make blueberry sauce:Combine one cup sugar,two Tablespoons cornstarch,and one cup water in a saucepan.Cook over medium high heat stirring until mixture thickens.Stir in one cup blueberries and simmer stirring occasionally until berries burst.Add one Tablespoon butter stir till melted add one teaspoon vanilla extract.Serve over baked blueberry casserole.
