I got this recipe from a wonderful woman. This is by far the best banana bread I have ever tasted. I love the fact it is a little denser than cake. SO good. I know you will love it. The walnuts are optional but I always put them in.

Serves:
3 loaf pans or 1 -9x13

Ingredients

1/2 lb
butter
1 1/2 c
sugar
4
eggs
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
3 c
mashed bananas
2 1/2 c
flour, sifted
2 tsp
baking soda, sifted
1 tsp
salt
1 c
walnuts, finely chopped (optional)

How to Make Auntie's Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream the butter and sugar together. When creamy, add the eggs(one at a time) and vanilla. Mix well. Add massed bananas, alternately with the flour, bkg soda and salt. Lastly stir in the walnuts.
  • 2Pour into prepared cake or loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until it pulls away from pan. Cool then serve with butter if you like. Wrapped properly these loaves freeze well. You could also try macadamia nuts and/ or raisins.
