This is an easy sweet bread that everyone just loves.Flavors are best when the bananas are rather ripe but not mushy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4 - eggs
  • 4 - bananas, mashed-see below *
  • 3-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 - chopped banana -*

How To Make aunt betty's "oh so good" banana bread

  • Step 1
    Cream butter & sugar; add vanilla, lemon juice and eggs..beat well. Stir in mashed bananas. mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Add sour cream and chopped banana.
  • Step 2
    Grease and flour two loaf pans. Divide mixture into the prepared pans. Bake 350 degrees for approx. 1 hr. Cool on rack.
