Ingredients

  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and grated
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden raisins, chopped
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream

How To Make apple scone

  • Step 1
    Place the apple in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals until softened. Let cool and drain off liquid.
  • Step 2
    Add chopped raisins to apple.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Step 4
    Add butter and mix with your hands until coarse crumbs are formed.
  • Step 5
    Stir in the apple, raisin mix. Toss to coat.
  • Step 6
    Add cream and stir until combined.
  • Step 7
    Spray a scone pan with cooking spray.
  • Step 8
    Place the dough in the pan. Then freeze while the oven is preheating.

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

    When preheated, add water to empty scone spaces.

    Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

    Let cool in pan 5 minutes.
