Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs, sllightly beaten
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
- 2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup skim or 2% milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
How To Make alan's lemon bread

Step 1Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and lemon rind. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Beat smooth after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into buttered 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch loaf pan.

Step 2Bake in preheated 350 oven for 60 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Leave in pan.

Step 3Combine lemon juice and sugar. Prick top of loaf with fork and pour mixture over the top. Let settle for at least one hour before serving.
