Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups peeled, cored and shredded apples
  • 1 cup walnut halves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup aged cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make aged cheddar apple nut bread

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating each until blended.
  • Step 3
    Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in another bowl; then gradually add to butter mixture.
  • Step 4
    Fold in apples, walnuts and cheddar. (Batter will be stiff.)
  • Step 5
    Transfer to a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step 6
    Cool for 10 minutes; remove from pan to a wire rack.
