Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs, lighty beaten
How To Make spoon bread

Step 1Combine the cornmeal and butter in a medium bowl. Add the boiling water, stirring until the butter melts. Cool to room temperature.

Step 2Combine the sugar, baking powder, and salt; add to the cornmeal mixture, stirring well.

Step 3Combine the milk and eggs, stirring with a wire whisk until blended. Add the milk mixture to the cornmeal mixture. Stir well.

Step 4Pour the batter into a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
