My mom came up with this recipe, by trial and error. This is fantastic. You can use your sourdough starter in this recipe also. I hope you enjoy.......

Ingredients

  • 1 qt
    active sourdough starter (opt) or yeast
  • 1/2 c
    water, warm instead of sourdough
  • 1/2 c
    cottage cheese, creamed
  • 1/4 c
    green chiles chopped
  • 1 tsp
    grey poupon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 2 c
    bread flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar instead of starter
  • 1 tsp
    salt instead of starter
  • 2 Tbsp
    parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    yeast (opt) or starter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    onion flakes, dehydrated

How to Make Southwestern Bread (Machine) / Sourdough

Step-by-Step

  1. Put ingredients into machine in this order. Use regular setting for white bread setting. If you use the 1qt starter you will do the bread by hand
  2. If using sourdough starter do not put ingredients marked instead of. If you do not use starter then put exactly in the order marked except sourdough starter. Enjoy............
