Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1 cup canned black-eyed peas, drained well
- 3/4 cup cream style corn
- 1 pound browned pork breakfast sausage (can use browned ground beef) - drained well
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
How To Make southern black-eyed pea cornbread

Step 1Mix together cornmeal through jalapeno peppers - mix well.

Step 2To the cornmeal mixture, add drained blackeye peas, creamed corn, drained meat and cheese.

Step 3Prepare a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and pour mixture evenly into the dish. Bake at 375 degrees F for 45-60 minutes.
