Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter active and bubbly
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg for egg wash
How To Make sourdough dinner rolls

Step 1In a stand mixer, add all ingredients except the egg until well incorporated. Knead on speed 2 for about 15 minutes.

Step 2Place in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Allow to rise overnight, about 12 hours.

Step 3The next day, divide the dough into 8 balls. Knead the balls, pushing and foldingthem, then finally into round balls.

Step 4Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a moist towel.

Step 5Let rise for another 2 hours.

Step 6Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 7Beat the egg with a little water. Brush each ball with egg wash.

Step 8Bake for about 30 minutes or until nicely browned.
