Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons dry, jarred yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water (120 degrees)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 - egg yolk
- 1 - egg white
- - parmesan cheese
How To Make soft breadsticks

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, stir together 1 cup of the flour with 2 1/2 tsp. dry yeast, and salt, with a wire whisk.

Step 2In another bowl, combine, warm water, olive oil, honey, and egg yolk.

Step 3Add to dry mixture and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowls constantly. Increase the speed to high and continue to beat for 3 minutes. Using a spoon, stir in remaining flour.

Step 4Turn dough onto a floured surface, and knead until dough is smooth and elastic, about 5-8 minutes.

Step 5Place in a greased bowl, turning to coat dough completely. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. (About an hour.)

Step 6Punch dough down. Cover with damp cloth and let rest 10 minutes.

Step 7Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 8Divide dough in half. Divide each portion into 8 pieces. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a 6-8 inch rope and place 2 inches apart on baking dish. Cover and let rise 45 minutes more.

Step 9Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Step 10Beat together egg white and 1 tbsp. water with a wire whisk. Brush over breadsticks and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Step 11Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
