Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Stoneground Cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 - Egg
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Boiling Water
  • - Pan Spray
  • - Small-8-9 inch Skillet with Lid

How To Make skillet cornbread

  • Step 1
    Mix first 4 ingredients in small bowl.
  • Step 2
    Mix next three ingredients in small bowl.
  • Step 3
    Warm skillet(lid on) & spray with pan spray.
  • Step 4
    Boil Water
  • Step 5
    Mix wet ingredients into dry. Then mix in boiling water. Stir only until well combined. Pour into skillet & cover with lid. Cook until browned & with wide spatula, flip over. Continue to cook (without lid) until firm to the touch -- total time about 5 minutes. This is on medium heat. Cut into wedges and serve warm. This is great when you are in a hurry since it mixes in a flash and cooks really fast.
