Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2-4 tablespoons herbs of choice, opt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk

How To Make scones

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven 450. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients; pour buttermilk into well. Stir from the inside out, by hand.
  • Step 2
    Flour board and hands. Press out and shape dough. Brush top with egg wash. Cut into wedges.
  • Step 3
    Optional: dip wedges into grated cheese.
  • Step 4
    Bake 10-15. Cool on wire rack.
