This is so good. You can eat with Soup, Camp Stew, all types of veggies or I love it with just a glass of tea. When Katrina came through, several families from our home town would cook food and take down to Waveland, Ms. on Sundays. This was one of the favorite foods they looked forward to. Original from Tony Salter.

  • 1 - lb. of bulk sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups self rising meal
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 8 ounces shredded cheese (mild or sharp) cheddar
  • 8 1/4 ounces can of creamed corn

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

How To Make sausage corn bread

  • Step 1
Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees--This is best baked in cast iron skillets. Brown sausage and do not drain. Cool and then add all other ingredients.
  • Step 2
Grease your skillets and pour your mixture in. This will make a 8" and a 4" skillet. Bake until golden brown. Hope you enjoy!!!!
