peggi's sauerkraut rye bread
I got this recipe in a bread book for bread machines. I have used it for several years now. You can also use it without a bread machine. I have posted a picture of the correct pan to use when making this bread in order to brown properly.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all- purpose or bread flour
- 1/2 cup rye flour
- 1 tablespoon dry milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 7/8 cup water (3/4 cup + 2 t.)
- 2 tablespoons caraway seed – crushed
- 2 tablespoons drained sauerkraut
- - 1 pkg. yeast or 2 ¼ t.
- EGG WASH
- 1 small egg
- 2 tablespoons cold water
How To Make peggi's sauerkraut rye bread

Step 1I put in bread machine.

Step 2When ready, take out & knead a few times in flour .

Step 3Shape into loaf & place in a loaf pan sprayed with pan coating first. Cover & let rise until doubled in size.

Step 4Just before baking, beat egg & water in cup. Brush top of bread gently with egg wash. Bake @ 350° until browned, about 20 min.
