Oven Top Stuffing Mix

I was going thru a "make your own groceries" cookbook and came across this recipe for making your own stove top dressing packages. A good wintertime project to take a day and make these up.

stale bread you have cubed and dried in a low oven
2 tsp
chicken boullion granules, or 2 crushed cubes
3 Tbsp

1 Tbsp
coarsley crushed dried parsley flakes
2 tsp
dried minced onions
1/4 tsp
poultry seasoning
1/4 tsp
crushed sage
1/2 tsp
black pepper
sandwich size zipper bags / or tie type, or envelope
large size zipper food bag

1Place 3 1/2 cups dried bread cubes in large bag, set aside
2Mix other ingredients in sandwich size bag, close and put inside bag of cubed bread. Store at room temperature
3To prepare, in saucepan combine 7/8 cup water, 5 TBS butter or margarine and seasoning mix. bring to a boil, cover and simmer 8 minutes, then add bread cubes, stir quickly just to moisten, cover remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. fluff before serving.
4*NOTE* You can buy prepared stuffing cubes. ( but why?)
PORK STUFFING: replace chicken boullion with onion boullion
Make several ahead and always have them on hand.

Don't throw away anymore bread, make dried cubes as you go, store them in the large bags,3 1/2 cups ea.

You can use broth in place of the water.
