megan's corn bread
This was a recipe I probably wrote from one of the ones Grandma W had, or got from one of the Great Aunts. It was in my handwriting, and got so old that I had to put it into the computer to save it (I used to write my recipes in pencil).

- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup oil
- - sugar to sprinkle on top, optional
How To Make megan's corn bread

Step 1Oven to 425 degrees. Grease 8" square pan. Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, powder and salt. Add egg, milk and oil just until dry ingredients are moistened. Bake 20-25 min or until golden.

Step 2Note: My grandma (Grandma W) used to sprinkle a little sugar on top of her cornbread or on muffins before she baked them.
