Ingredients

  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp
    melted shortening
  • 1 c
    cream style corn
  • 1 c
    grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 can(s)
    diced green chili peppers
  • 1 jar(s)
    4-oz sliced pimientos
  • 2 large
    eggs

How to Make Jalapeno Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Combine buttermilk and cornmeal and let stand for 30 minutes.

    Add remaining ingredients to cornmeal and buttermilk mixture. Mix well.

    Pour into 9x13 greased pan. Bake 30 minutes.
