Ingredients For jalapeno cornbread

  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    jalapeno peppers-chopped
  • 1/2 c
    onions-chopped
  • 1/2 c
    green onions-chopped
  • 1 can
    cream style corn
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lg
    eggs-beaten
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese-shredded
  • extra cheese for top

How To Make jalapeno cornbread

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350'. Put oil in cast iron skillet (or oven proof skillet) to heat as oven heats.
  • 2
    Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.

    Once oil is heated (I usually let heat until oven is done preheating) add oil to bowl. Stirring well.

    Pour mixture into hot skillet. Sprinkle cheese over the top.

    Bake for 50-60 minutes.
